The Challenge
Since 2007, DelCor has supported the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) with a variety of services, including technology planning, system selections, project management support, and network support.
When NAEYC’s internal IT Director left to pursue another opportunity, the organization turned to us to help them determine how to staff and structure their IT support. NAEYC’s IT Director had been responsible for both technical network administration and project management, so the organization needed both day-to-day technical leadership and strategic guidance to help finished existing IT projects.
The Process
In a matter of days, we dispatched a consulting team—which included an interim IT Director and an interim Chief Information Officer (CIO)—to provide immediate support for NAEYC.
The DelCor IT Director managed day-to-day operations, which included vendor management, help desk management, and IT staff performance management. The DelCor CIO helped NAEYC strategize for the future by facilitating an IT assessment, recommending improvements for technology governance, consulting on staffing and department structure.
Throughout the engagement, our team leveraged our knowledge of NAEYC’s needs and culture to help the organization hire a new Senior Director of IT. The team facilitated the recruitment process for NAEYC—screening resumes, recommending interview questions, and participating in interviews.

The Solution
This project was such a success because we not only helped NAEYC find a Senior Director of IT to meet the organization’s needs, but also made a positive impact while onsite.
The DelCor team enhanced NAEYC’s network administration, improved help desk service delivery, successfully negotiated a service agreement with an application development vendor to support a mission-critical custom application, and maintained a collaborative relationship with the NAEYC point of contact.
Since this engagement, DelCor has also become the organization’s Managed Service Provider (MSP).
